be honest , listen, reflect

Have you ever attended a 7 day church camp? I DID.
Did you regret agreeing to attend when you signed in at the registration counter? I DID.
Did you have a blast, meet many new and interesting people, dance till your legs gave way, cried to emotional clips and meet one of the most interesting persons you'd probably ever meet in your life? - - - I MOST CERTAINLY DID

It was the love and life seminar 2007. I personally hadn't heard of such a camp prior to this, but after some research, this camp has been a yearly agenda of the ASAYO dating back to even 1998!

I ended STPM early december, and thought after this, life would really begin! I had toiled for one and a half years and was really eager get the exam over with. Yet, when the exam did end, things took a turn for the worse, and i found myself in a terrible state of depression, a feeling that was the total opposite of what I had actually intended to feel.

I really did just give up hope and was at a dead end. My uncle then met up with me and handed the registration form to THE LOVE AND LIVE SEMINAR 2007. He told me that my cousin was going and it would do me good if i kept him company. He also said too that it was just a ONE DAY camp.

The truth was, he told the same story to my cousin, Dinesh. He told him that I was going and I had asked for his company. It was a con!!!

And so,Dinesh and I held hands together and off both of us went for LOVE AND LIFE!

DAY 1
Registration opened at 3pm. It said on the formed we filled out to be there at 3pm. SO
Dinesh and i got there at 3pm. BUT, was everybody else there at 3pm???? NOOOOO..... bloody hell, Dinesh and i had to sit our asses on the hard benches and wait till SIXBLOODY pm till everyone had arrived! not a good start for me, who was feeling all miserable going in the first place.
Finally when we had chosen our bunks (
Dinesh and i slept ont bunks next to each other), they told us that there was MASS.... i'd curse, but its mass, so respectttt... we found out later that there was to be mass EVERY SINGLE DAY...once again i'd curse, but its mass, so respecetttt...
During mass, i did scout about to see if i knew anyone, or if there was any eye candy. There were a few participants that i did know and some i had recognized, but as far as the eye candy was concerned... lets just say there weren't many sights to see... ANYWAY, after mass, we had the usual ice breaker. They took one shoe from every participant and put it in a box. then at random they pull out a shoe and we go up and claim it, then take the mike and introduce ourselves. I didnt't see why we just couldn't just go up without taking off shoe... why involve my shoe?? they made me walk around in my socks god dammit!! and i wore white.... =.='
AND THEN... we were given our group names along with our name tags, and i was put in the most COOOLEST of groups. yeaps, it was so cool, i had to use 3 O's. hahaha, anyway, i was put in team PUNON.... PUNON.... (and by the way, its pronounced as PE-NON).... all i was thinking was "the name sounds vulgar"... We had all gotten into our groups of 9 and then i had a good look at the other 8 people that i was to spend most of my time with for the next 7 days... wait wait, lets see if i remember their names... there was... COLLIN, JUSTIN, ALMA, JC, MAUREEN, MARY, AMANDA and..... X!!.... i can't remember the last one... shit...
Our first task which was that night was to paint our groups map!!! eh eh!! i mean FLAG!! yess flag!! (sorry amanda! ;) ) and we did it! it was a big circle with a P in the middle... P for PUNON... PUNON... it still sounds vulgar. And after chatting and chatting up my group mates ( =p) we headed for bed and went to sleep. (hey, not that i did chat her up, but amanda and i really hit it off k!) hahaha. i hadn't made many new friends by the first night, and i didn't mingle much in the boysdorm for i went straight to bed. But little did i know that it was to be the start of something new.... to be continued...
