We came, we saw, we played in the sand!

The family and I spent our Chinese New Year in Terengganu at Awana, Kijal. Here are the pictures. We stayed for 3 days, and the pics are not in order.

we went cycling and found a pier. thats mom and dad.

thats the three of us at the pier. isaac, chris, sara.

the wind was REALLY strong.

after the pier, we just cycled everywhere and anywhere

after the bike ride, we just sat at the beach.

i think this is as close as ill ever get to getting my fingerprints in a mold.

a tribute to my cat!!! haha, we missed him on our trip. i know someone is rolling her eyes now!

isaac wanted to swim, but had to wait for sara.

we had lunch at the hotel's restaurant. im actually watching onetreehill on my ipod.

this proves that i'd make out superbly and would give great oral sex.

this was on the first day, we checked in at 3, waited till 6, then hit the beach!

i was having an emo moment. haha.

i think this is a really nice pic of sara.

never say the george boy's have no talent...

... cause we drew a lily.

i was either really into the book, rocking to a song, or constipated. sigh.

mom and dad were just hangin' by the poolside.

the last morning, we got up early to have coffee by the beach.

with our shirts on...

...and with them off! sigh, im so far from April 25th.

"sand is meant for drawing"... quote isaac.

DAY 2

SO… I had the bunk nearest to the door. Well, not really the nearest, but most accessible from the door, so when GabrielTheFaci comes in to ring the morning bell to wake us up, he’d stand right by MY BED. @*#$&@*. Anyway, so we all get up and start taking turns to bath. HAHA, only I decided not to. Why? Cause I cant stand bathing with ice cubes at 645am! The water was freakkiiiinnngggg COLD! So I thought why bother and just bath in the evening. Don’t need to impress anyone right? (or so I thought. HAHA). After the morning prayer, we had breakfast. We learnt that we had to sit in our groups and everyone had to be seated with their food at the table before we could start. Grace was obviously said too. HAHA, so kesian my group faci, Charissa. We NEVER waited for her, and she’d always come to the table and whine in the cutest voice “alaaaaaaaaa…why ya’ll never wait for meeeeeeee”. HAHA, so cute! We had our first session after breakfast!! It was about an introduction to ourselves and our lives as catholics. Yes, I am a catholic! Anyway…. First, we got a handout, and had to draw a self-emblem. We had to describe our good qualities, growth experiences, growth obstacles and our motivations by drawing this emblem. HAHA. I drew it. And everybody knows that Chris even has a hard time drawing stickmen…. So…. MOVING ON….the next handout had 10 boxes and each box had a few patterns in them. All we had to do was chose one for every box and the answers would describe us. Hahaha, so Amanda and I just chose the prettiest ones in the box. And somehow, the answers DID describe is. Not totally, but they had a few hits on us. Weird. And then the last handout was just a blank paper with a big empty square in the middle. And we were just asked to draw a tree. AND apparently, they can describe the person you are just by looking at the tree you drew. HAHA. So I learnt at this 7 day camp, how to draw a tree! We broke for lunch, once again didn’t wait for Charissa, then went back for the second part of the session. This was about self image and self esteem. We had to rate ourselves bla bla bla. The best session was at night, cause we watched a movie!!! We watched PAY IT FORWARD. They had Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt and Haley Joel Osment in it. It was about a young boy who attempts to make the world a better place. And he really did! It was a really touching movie. But I was tearing more to the fact that Amanda didn’t sneak Dinesh and I M&M’s. So selfish! HAHA. Can see she and her friends munching on those soft, sweet M&M’s in front of us and not caring to share. ISH. After the movie, they had the TaizĂ© prayer. The TaizĂ© prayer is a quiet simple way of prayer designed for people of all Christian traditions. These meditative candlelit services include simple chants sung repeatedly; rich silence; and prayers of praise and intercession. It has a long history so go look it up if you want. But it was great to find out about a prayer like this. Never knew it existed. We then turned in for the night, everyone silent and deep in reflection. It was a good day, and slowly I was beginning to like this camp. But, oh, so very slowly…

be honest , listen, reflect

Have you ever attended a 7 day church camp? I DID.
Did you regret agreeing to attend when you signed in at the registration counter? I DID.
Did you have a blast, meet many new and interesting people, dance till your legs gave way, cried to emotional clips and meet one of the most interesting persons you'd probably ever meet in your life? - - - I MOST CERTAINLY DID

It was the love and life seminar 2007. I personally hadn't heard of such a camp prior to this, but after some research, this camp has been a yearly agenda of the ASAYO dating back to even 1998!

I ended STPM early december, and thought after this, life would really begin! I had toiled for one and a half years and was really eager get the exam over with. Yet, when the exam did end, things took a turn for the worse, and i found myself in a terrible state of depression, a feeling that was the total opposite of what I had actually intended to feel.

I really did just give up hope and was at a dead end. My uncle then met up with me and handed the registration form to THE LOVE AND LIVE SEMINAR 2007. He told me that my cousin was going and it would do me good if i kept him company. He also said too that it was just a ONE DAY camp.

The truth was, he told the same story to my cousin, Dinesh. He told him that I was going and I had asked for his company. It was a con!!!

And so,Dinesh and I held hands together and off both of us went for LOVE AND LIFE!

DAY 1
Registration opened at 3pm. It said on the formed we filled out to be there at 3pm. SO
Dinesh and i got there at 3pm. BUT, was everybody else there at 3pm???? NOOOOO..... bloody hell, Dinesh and i had to sit our asses on the hard benches and wait till SIXBLOODY pm till everyone had arrived! not a good start for me, who was feeling all miserable going in the first place.
Finally when we had chosen our bunks (
Dinesh and i slept ont bunks next to each other), they told us that there was MASS.... i'd curse, but its mass, so respectttt... we found out later that there was to be mass EVERY SINGLE DAY...once again i'd curse, but its mass, so respecetttt...
During mass, i did scout about to see if i knew anyone, or if there was any eye candy. There were a few participants that i did know and some i had recognized, but as far as the eye candy was concerned... lets just say there weren't many sights to see... ANYWAY, after mass, we had the usual ice breaker. They took one shoe from every participant and put it in a box. then at random they pull out a shoe and we go up and claim it, then take the mike and introduce ourselves. I didnt't see why we just couldn't just go up without taking off shoe... why involve my shoe?? they made me walk around in my socks god dammit!! and i wore white.... =.='
AND THEN... we were given our group names along with our name tags, and i was put in the most COOOLEST of groups. yeaps, it was so cool, i had to use 3 O's. hahaha, anyway, i was put in team PUNON.... PUNON.... (and by the way, its pronounced as PE-NON).... all i was thinking was "the name sounds vulgar"... We had all gotten into our groups of 9 and then i had a good look at the other 8 people that i was to spend most of my time with for the next 7 days... wait wait, lets see if i remember their names... there was... COLLIN, JUSTIN, ALMA, JC, MAUREEN, MARY, AMANDA and..... X!!.... i can't remember the last one... shit...
Our first task which was that night was to paint our groups map!!! eh eh!! i mean FLAG!! yess flag!! (sorry amanda! ;) ) and we did it! it was a big circle with a P in the middle... P for PUNON... PUNON... it still sounds vulgar. And after chatting and chatting up my group mates ( =p) we headed for bed and went to sleep. (hey, not that i did chat her up, but amanda and i really hit it off k!) hahaha. i hadn't made many new friends by the first night, and i didn't mingle much in the boysdorm for i went straight to bed. But little did i know that it was to be the start of something new.... to be continued...
